Modern affordable stroller?

I’ve been looking all over for a stroller I’ve seen that some lady had. It looked similar to the Uppababy Vista with all black wheels, Baby Joggerr City Select, and the I’coo Pacific stroller. But I am pretty sure she didn’t pay $500 plus for it. Is there a similar stroller to those but around $200? Preferably one with a cup holder & child bar or tray. Thanks.

Unless its all you can afford do not buy a Graco stroller…..they are very cheap and bulky. You will regret it in the long run and it may end up costing you more if you need to replace it in a year and a half.

Go for the Uppababy Vista they are great. If you can’t afford it then look at some of the Peg Perego P3 etc strollers for about $400. Anything around $200 are very cheap and will need to be replaced after a years worth of regular use so you might as well buy a better quality one now and enjoy it.

What is the best double jogging stroller in your opinion?

Needing to find a good double jogger. Currently I have a single Babytrend, but it’s just okay. I’m looking into the Bob’s because a lot of my workout friends have them, but wanted to make sure I’m not overlooking another great one. If you have any suggestions, please share them! Thanks!!

I recently got one from aBaby.com. It is known as Valco Twin Trimode – http://www.ababy.com/subcategory.asp?CID=34 It is available in a wide range of multiple strollers that they have. It has some extra features, which allow additional supply of air. My toddler and newborn, both enjoy their ride in it together, coz it is really comfortable. They even take custom made orders. Check their online portal for some huge collection of multiple strollers, all very reasonably priced.

Babysitting three little devils! Help!?

I babysit three girls on a regular basis. One is 1, one is 4 and the other just turned 7. They are so annoying, and I have such a hard time doing activites with them! The oldest one always wats to bike, but when we do she just goes way ahead of us and I end up chasing her while holding a stroller. I need some indoor ideas please! They never want to do the same thing and alwYs want to break the rules. Sorry I types this on my iPod

Have a word with their parents, explain the situation. Have them agree to set parameters – eg. the eldest can only bike in the back yard, or she has to have a tether on her.
Siblings are not clones, their individual personalities, as well as their different ages, means that they’re very unlikely to want to do the same things.
You can try enlisting Eldest’s support: “As you’re a great big grown-up girl, you can help look after these annoying babies”.
You can try splitting the session into three parts: “We’ll do what Eldest wants until the big hand’s on Six, then what Middle One wants until it’s on Twelve, then what Baby wants until it’s on Three.”
You can’t actually punish, but you can withdraw treats and privileges.
This should be talked over with the parents, though. They might consider sending one or other to an appropriate playgroup. They should count their blessings, though.
But I think you’ve got an uphill struggle.
Good luck!

Double Jogging stroller that is also infant car seat compatible?

I have a 21 month old and a 2 week old, I would love to find a double stroller for these two little ones! I’d REALLY like to know if there’s a jogging stroller that will accommodate an infant car seat.

Pretty much every double jogging stroller is car seat compatable, you would just need to get the attachment. I’ve been looking at Mountain Buggy, Bumble Ride, Tike Tech, Bob, and Valco baby and they all have attachments where you can have an older child and a carseat. Just make sure you get one of the ones that the kids will have foot room instead of them having to sit crooked so their feet don’t hang off the side.

Munchkin Stroller Organizer

Please help!! i need a baby list a.s.a.p?

I am 38wks and I need a baby list. I already went shopping for some stuff but I know I need more. Thank you 🙂

Don’t stress hun(I know, worst thing to say to a first time mom), babies don’t need as much as we are led to believe.

I can’t tell you the number of things that I didn’t need/use with my first baby. I just had my 3rd after waiting 8 years, so I started over and learned from my “mistakes” and my choices were so much different this time.

The biggest things you need to have:
*diapers
*wipes
*diaper rash cream
*baby wash/lotion
*baby bathtub(or you can use the sink)-I like the foldable bathtub, it fits under the sink when not in use
*crib or bassinet or pack-n-play
*clothes and blankets(hats, no scratch mittens)…I love my swaddle blanket because I can’t swaddle to save my life
*infant grooming set(nail clippers, hairbrush, comb, etc)
*carseat
*baby thermometer
*high chair(won’t be needed until 4+ mos, I have a foldable that I can take to a restaurant and it attaches to the kitchen chairs so I don’t have extra “furniture”)

Optional:
*bottles and formula(if you are bottle feeding)
*pacifiers(start with just one pkg, some babies love them, some hate them)
*swing(my son hated it, both my daughter’s wouldn’t sleep without it)
*jumper/exersaucer(won’t need this until 6-10wks depending on your baby)
*diaper bag(you won’t need this until you start going out with the baby-and initially a few diapers and a bottle in your purse are fine)
*stroller(how much you plan to use it makes a difference on what type-I have 2 strollers, a lightweight for quick trips/getting on&off an event shuttle bus, vacations, etc. and a bumbleride queen b for around the neighborhood/older kids ball games, etc-large air filled tires were important)

Things I like but aren’t necessary:
*Huggies(or other) disposable changing pads-even with the diaper bag changing pad I hate putting it on public surfaces.
*Baby “gym”-my daughter loves to lay on the floor and reach for all the pieces
*Arm & Hammer/munchkin disposable bags(for icky diapers-small and portable, better than a bulky genie)…I have 2, one at home and one in the diaper bag
*kitchen cleaner organizer(the type with the handle in the middle)-great for bath, diaper, and feeding stuff, I have 3 of them.
*Nosefrieda-it is a nose “sucker” that is mom-mouth powered(it sounds gross, but it works 1000% better/quicker(this is important with a sick/fussy baby)
*baby carrier-if you have a baby that doesn’t want to be down, it is a life-saver when you need to get things done. I also use mine in restaurants until they can use a high chair, it keeps your hands free to cook, clean, eat, whatever…my youngest is also colicky and I have used it at night to hold/soothe her so if I fall asleep from exhaustion sitting up nothing happens to the baby(this DOES happen)…it is also great when they are sick and want to stay “upright”
*flannel fabric scraps(at fabric stores) that can be cut into “wipes” for times of extreme diaper rash

Things I hated
*diaper genie- its bulky, it stinks, only necessary for a few diapers a day, and its never in the room I am in 😉
*changing table,
*wipie warmer- you can breathe some hot air just as easily and like the genie it is never in the same place I am and you can’t take it with you when out.
*bulky high chair- it takes up a ton of space, you are always stubbing your toe and I was germ-aphobic with my first and had to have my own at restaurants anyway 😉
*bottle warmer-they don’t work right and hot water works just as quickly(most are based on hot water)
*Strollers with small wheels that wouldn’t go “off-road” or get stuck in sidewalk cracks

So many things are going to depend on you, your baby, and your lifestyle…you will figure this out as you go. Some babies love rubber teethers, some frozen fruit(they make a netting for this-but you can also hold it), some like frozen washcloths(damp with water, juice, or puree then frozen), some like frozen/cold teethers, my youngest likes to chew a pacifier(she is a young teether and can’t hold on to anything else)…they are all different and will let you know what they want. Don’t stress and just go with your baby, it will all be natural once he/she is here!

Good luck!!

Does anyone know if a Chicco Keyfit 30 will fit on the Kolcraft contours tandem stroller plus twilight?

OK. I am looking for a double stoller (not to expensive) that a Chicco Keyfit 30 will fit on. I’ve read it will fit on the Kolcraft contours tandem double stroller (the ruby colored one). But I like the Kolcraft contours tandem stroller plus (color twilight) but it doesn’t say it is compatible with the Chicco. The strollers both look the same, but I don’t want to buy it if it won’t work. If anyone knows please help! Also, if anyone knows of a different double stroller that works with a chicco, let me know! Thanks!
Also, Kolcraft is mostly sold on the internet and is sold no where close around where I live (or at least not this stroller) so I cannot try it before buying. That’s why I need other parents help.

Go to the store and try it out.

Trying To Pick A Stroller?

I am expecting my first child in October. I have been looking around at strollers at Buy Buy Baby, Target and online. I am so overwhelmed. I don’t have a clue which one to pick. There are hundreds!! I don’t need a jogger stroller or anything really fancy. Some of these strollers I see are $800 which is obnoxious! Does anyone have any advise on picking the right stroller? Any brand that is better then another. Is a travel system better or a stroller that lets the baby lay flat then have a car seat seperate?? I’m so lost!

It’s okay Sara so was I at first. This is what the hubby and I found out. Your best bet is a double stroller where the front folds down flat for a bed. why? Because you are going to be using the stroller in places like the shopping mall and a single stroller has no room for purchases or a diaper bag and your baby will outgrow a single stroller faster not to mention if they want to take a nap on a walk they don’t have much room. I think we ended up buying a greaco(sp?). my kids were 14 months apart so we needed a double stroller and this one was great and it didn’t bankrupt us. I think we got ours at sears or Jc penny.just make sure it is not a side by side double stroller make sure it is one where the kids sit one behind the other. even though you are only having one baby you will be really pleased with this kind of stroller.I would never buy a single stroller they make them way to small and by this time next year your child will be cramped. the car seat deals I have never been a fan of. this of course was all 18 years ago but after today who knows I might be looking at strollers again too!

Do you think strollers are fashion accessories.?

Do you think of strollers as fashion accessories or just a way to get your baby around. Do you really think there is much difference between a Bugaboo or a Graco?

Not a fashion statement here, just a mode of transportation that doesn’t kill mommy or daddy’s back! lol

We are trying to find the Jeep – Cherokee Sport Lightweight Stroller in Pink and grey but are having no luck.?

Does anyone know where we can find them? Walmart says they are not in Stock online.

We have seen the umbrella strollers but we are looking for just the standard lightweight stroller. I have checked in the surrounding areas here and there is none available. Does anyone know anywhere else that I would be able to find one?

I’ve looked myself, and according to the manufacturer’s website, Kolcraft, the pink is not available yet, but is “coming soon”.

Does anyone know if they make a double side-by-side stroller with a sit and stand attachment?

I have a 4 year old who doesn’t always like to walk, but is too bug for a stroller and one year old twins. I was looking for a side-by-side stroller (for the twins) with a sit and stand attachment for the 4 year old, does anyone know if these are made and if so where I can get one? If not, any other suggestions?

A very popular option depending on if your stroller will fit will be the buggyboard maxi from Lascal.

jogging stroller revolution

Does a compact jogging stroller exist?

I was set on the BOB Revolution stroller only to find out that it would be impossible to fit it in my car (Toyota Camry). I do a lot of jogging, shopping, as well as hiking with my husband. We need something that covers all grounds. I feel as though it is an impossible quest.

Many jog strollers have wheels that pop off easily for storage. I have multiple strollers and strongly suggest you do the same. Mall shopping is best done with a snap and go or an umbrella type stroller that you can keep in the trunk for everyday use. I have a huge double jogger (Baby Trend Expedition) that fits in the trunk of my little Mazda 3 if I clear everything else out (which I do if I’m going to drive to a park/trail for a run), my hubbie fits it in his Corolla by popping off the back tires (which click back into place easily on arrival).
If you’re short (not too long a stride) and a jogger who does less than 20mi./week, you may be able to get away with a Phil and Ted. I loved mine (if you have an infant, I highly recommend buying the cocoon and for the seat buy a buggy bunny to make it more comfortable. If you’re not using it as a double, you can get away with a Maclaren universal hangbag, but otherwise you need to buy the Phil and Ted’s bag so it doesn’t hang down so far that it hits the second child in the head. It had big enough tires for camping/well packed dirt trails, but was designed to maneuver well (very narrow). However, as I said, while the front wheel does lock, it’s not really a running stroller, so try it out before you buy.

instep jogging stroller free shipping
Best stroller on a budget?

I am looking for a pink/purple stroller. I want it to have a tray in front of my daughter so she can eat snacks, adult cup holders, easy to push around, compact enough to fit in my trunk of my car, a space beneath it to put her diaper bag. I’m ok with the 5 point harness but I prefer just the lap belt. I want something that she is going to be comfy in but I dont want to spend more than a couple hundred dollars on it. I have been searching all morning! online and also lately when i go out and about. Her stroller that she has now has broken and I need to get a new one ASAP. Any advice from you is appreciated. She is 9 months old, about 20lbs and I’d like whatever I buy to last until shes outgrown strollers(probably 3 or so yrs old)

I have the Instep Safari TT. I got it on www.babycenter.com it was only about $130 and I got free shipping. It’s not pink, but it does have a tray on the front, and you can choose either 3 point or 5 point harness. It’s a jogging/walking stroller with just 3 wheels, but because the front wheel has the option of swivel or locked I can take it everywhere, even down those narrow ailes at the mall. Also, the handle bar is adjustable so its good for shorter (I’m 5’3″) and taller people (even my 6’3″ dad likes to use it to take my son on walks when he comes to visit) It’s not as compact as an umbrella stroller, but it does fold flat enough to go in the trunck of my Toyota Corolla. And the weight limit on it is like 50-60 lbs. My 3 1/2 year old son still likes to ride in it.

Can you use a carseat in Jeep Jogging Stroller?

I just bought a Jeep Liberty Sport Urban Terrian Jog Stroller and I need to know if it is possible to put a carseat in it. I looked online and some websites say yes and some say no. If there are carseats that are accepted with this carseat which ones are compatible?

Only the Jeep Liberty Limited model, the more expensive, has the capacity to hold an infant car seat. The Liberty Sport Urban Terrain, your model and the more basic of the two, can NOT carry a car seat.

The Liberty Limited can carry these car seat brands: Graco, Chicco and Peg Perego.

See if you can return the Sport Urban Terrain and get a Liberty Limited instead. The page I recommend below tells you where to get the Liberty Limited at a good price, plus gives you all the information you need on all the models of Jeep Liberty strollers. It’s the one I had for my son and I used the heck out of it for four years and even with all the fancier strollers out now, I’d still go back to it, that’s how much I love it.

Best of luck!

Stroller Shade Umbrella

stroller shade umbrella

what are umbrella strollers good for?? Would you suggest a regular one or an umbrella one?

also – do most of them come with sun shades?

Umbrella strollers are good for older babies and toddlers. They tend to be lacking in storage and solid cup holders (some come with little pockets that will hold a water bottle). One good thing about them is that if you are going to a crowded restaurant, you can take the baby out and keep the folded stroller under the table. Some umbrella strollers don’t come with a sunshade, but better-quality ones usually do.

Regular strollers are bulkier and can be a pain to get into and out of the trunk of your car. They often have a tray that goes across the front so that your baby can play or snack while riding. Also, they tend to recline more comfortably for naps and have better seat padding.

I prefer to have a regular stroller or travel system for pre-walking babies, and then switch to an umbrella stroller for later on. A lot of people are perfectly happy just using one or the other, though. When you test-drive strollers, make sure to bring the baby or add weight to the seat to get a better sense of their handling and maneuverability.

graco carseat fitting on stroller?

my friend is giving me a graco car seat that her daughter has outgrown. we had hoped for a travel system for our shower, but since it would be cheaper this way we were just gonna buy a stroller to fit this car seat!

i LOVE online shopping and i feel that you often get better deals when you search around online. reason i say that is if i get it online i cant take the seat in a store to see if it fits on it.

so are all graco caresats and strollers made to fit together? or do you have to put certain ones with each other? ive seen the seat, but it had a cover on it so i couldnt tell what set it went with. so if i cant find the exact stroller from the set, will any stroller work??

Yes… they do. As far as I know they do since most car seats from Graco fit on the Baby Trend snap-and-go (it’s made to just hold the car seat and is compatible with several different types of car seats.) However, I would recommend reconsidering whether you need a Graco stroller.

First, the Graco strollers are a pain in the neck. I had a travel system with my daughter. The wheels are too small, it doesn’t lay back well, the wheels degrade, the seat-belt is just a lap belt T type (and we had a few scares with it), the hood hardly covers the baby… it was the most miserable stroller to push and control, not to mention trying to go up and down curbs or across sand to a play area was terrible. It was bulky and heavy, it wouldn’t fit in the trunk of my car (and my car has a BIG trunk) so it had to sit in the backseat by my daughter. It wouldn’t fit in my husband’s car at all, not the trunk or the backseat.

Second, you’re not supposed to leave a baby to sleep in their car seat. Research done last year is making it so that you should try and limit the baby being in a car seat to 2 hours at the most. There are breathing problems, and some babies have died, others have had oxygen breathing problems. They estimate 20% of infants (under 6 months) have respiratory problems because of their car seats or sitting up before they should. They recommend babies should lay flat back, and to use the car seats only in the car, especially if the baby is sleeping. So there’s really no reason to limit yourself to a Graco stroller when you can’t lay it back well enough for an infant, and shouldn’t really use it to carry the car seat anyway, not safely.

If you DO go for a Graco, you can probably find one that someone is getting rid of. However, there’s a current recall that says that baby’s fingers have been amputated by the canopy, so familiarize yourself with that. There are people who are quite willing to sell a recalled stroller.

Otherwise, I know that the Chicco stroller is comparable in price and lays fully flat back while also letting you put the infant’s feet up, perfect for a newborn. My favorite strollers tend to be joggers, and I know that the Baby Trend we have lays back far enough for a 2 month old, while the BOB (expensive) lays back far enough for a 1 month old. In the meantime I plan on carrying my baby in a baby chest carrier because it was more convenient with my daughter. (We had the Graco car seat and stroller in the car, but I would carry her far more often because it was just more convenient, less hassle, easier to snuggle her against me to keep her warmer or cover her if it was windy or sunny, and she loved to look around at people.)

Add: As far as I know the Graco strollers have to be the large ones to have the car seats fit on them correctly. It should say in their descriptions whether they will work with a Graco car seat.

Best COMPACT DOUBLE STROLLER?

I asked in toddler section but was looking for any more answers:

I am looking for a compact side by side double stroller that will fit easily in the trunk of a Honda Civic.

I have a 17 month old and 3 month old.

We have a Graco double and it is just too big to use all the time.

Anyone have a good one? I was looking at the Chicco and Maclaren double strollers so far.

It’s not a side by side but I strongly recommend the Phil & Teds double strollers. They are a great invention. If you’re looking to do more with your stroller but still have the storage option then maybe look into a Chariot which can be used as a jogger or as a bike trailer and still folds flat. You could also buy 2 umbrella strollers and get stroller connectors for them which works great for going to the mall. I also have the Graco double stroller and find it is really big as well.

Which Quinny pram/stroller is this?

Can you help me identify this product? It does not seem to be a current model. A Quinny stroller that looks a bit like an old-fashion pram (albeit in the modern Quinny style). Four large-ish wheels, one at each ‘corner’ – i.e. not in the typical Quinny pattern. Also looked like the back wheels pivoted independently of the front wheels when turning a corner.
Yes, it similar-looking to the first of these but the back two wheels seemed to be able to pivot on a central spindle.

The Quinny Freestyle 4 Stroller has 4 wheels and there is actually a 4-wheeled version of the ‘Buzz’.

Best jog stoller for run/walk on dirt and sidewalks?

My daughter is 1 year old and I want to take up running. I have been looking into a jog stroller and I am overwhelmed at all the choices. I was looking at an InStep jog stroller with a fixed front wheel and rear suspension system. Where I live at doesn’t have alot of sidewalks. So I will be initially walking then running on a combination of surfaces (gravel, dirt, road) flat surfaces. I want a jog stroller that won’t fall over, easy to lift and lower over curbs and will allow my daughter to sit up.

Any suggestions on what to look for in a jog stroller or any brand to look for?

Thanks

First, congratulations on starting a running program! That’s terrific. I take my daughter jogging with me each morning. She’s 17 months. We use the Jeep Overland Limited Jogging Stroller and I enjoy it a lot. My husband and I checked it out at the store first, before my daughter was even born, and decided that it would work for us particularly because I do jog off road and wanted something that could take a beating.

As you said, it can be overwhelming. I felt the same way. If you have a Babies-r-Us or some store in your area that you can personally check out strollers that would be a good start. Once you find something that works for you, shop online for bargains and read readers reviews so that you make the best purchase the first time. Good luck.
