double stroller jogging
tips on shopping for a double jogging stroller?
hey
i’m shopping for a double jogging stroller so i can get out of the freaking house with my 2yr old and 1 yr old!!! Last double stroller we had was long front to back (not a jogger) and I hated it. I realized that I never go anywhere because it was such a pain to push.

Yes.
The manufacturer says to be sure to buckle the child into the 5-point harness and use the stroller at the reclined position until the baby can sit up.

When can I start putting my baby in the actual stroller, not the car seat that came with it?
We have graco metrolite stroller, and he is two months now, holding his head well.
With a metrolite, you can be putting the baby in the actual stroller now. As long as the stroller back can recline more than 45 degrees (which the metrolite does), it is safe to place babies under 6 months old directly in the stroller. You may want to use the head rest that comes with the car seat ( and sometimes the stroller) just to support the babies head if you are going to be on a bumpy surface.
You will need to recline the stroller back to at least 45 degrees to make sure the baby’s head does not fall forward and obstruct its airway and then you are good to go.

baby trend jogging stroller double
Is it worth it to buy a jogging stroller too?
We’re expecting twins in early 2011 and I’m just doing a little research on strollers.
When my older sons were newborns, I always liked to wake up in the morning and take them for a walk(or jog) around the neighborhood. I never bought a jogging stroller, but I’m beginning to think I should have-as it would have been easier for me to run w/ a different kind of stroller.
We’re not positive of the type of stroller we’re getting quite yet, but we’re considering the Baby Trend Double Snap-N-Go (http://www.babytrend.com/strollers_snap-n-go/1305TW.html) I’m looking for a stroller that would be suitable to take both of the twins with me for a walk or jog outside.
Do you think it’s worth it to buy the jogging stroller? If so, do you have any suggestions as to which kind/brand?

I didn’t buy a jogging stroller until we had our 4th child and I am in LOVE lol
I walk and jog quite a few mornings a week. I’ve definitely got my money’s worth out of that thing. The kids love taking turns getting to go with me. And it’s not just our 2 year old that uses it, either. Sometimes my 4 and 6 year olds go with me…that’s what’s great about a jogger, they’re bigger so even bigger kids can use them. They never ride in strollers and haven’t for awhile, but they still use this one. So again, definitely worth the money because it wasn’t something that the kids outgrew within one or two years.
I don’t know anything about double joggers. We have a Jeep brand and I’m very impressed with it.

I don't have an answer, but I have a suggestion instead … Try calling both companies and ask them. They may be able to tell you. OR, if you have the car seat already, you can go to a store that sells the stroller and ask if you can check it out. I've. never heard of the stroller so I'd have no idea where they sell them. I know Toys R Us and Baby Depot have a butt load of strollers on display, put together. So it wouldn't hurt to stop in and. check it yourself.

Best baby stroller to use in NYC streets?
I am very confused with all the strollers in the markets…I would like the reco of some experienced NYC parents. I would like a stroller that is lightweight bus also safe the baby. My biggest concern is that its something easy to maneuver and take on the subway.
I have a Safety 1st travel system ( the “pond” themed one) and I think it’s great- it’s light enough to carry my baby in one arm and the stroller in the other when climbing up to the platforms. I drive most of the time but when we are in Manhattan we take the train and walk. I also chose that model because it has a really big basket on the bottom. It was relatively inexpensive as well-

WHAT to do about a neighborhood with a compulsive SPEEDING PROBLEM?
Anyone tackled this problem with success? I live in a Florida neighborhood that has an HOA in place. Over time, speeding has grown out of control. Since most of the residents are the speeders, they aren’t too interested in stopping it!
We’ve been able to get speed traps, etc which have sadly netted many excessive speeding tickets on 25MPH residential roads. Yes, people routinely whiz past baby strollers, pets, and kids doing 40+ on NARROW residential streets with no sidewalks.
Lately, I just can’t stand it. I drive all around the city in my line of work and my neighborhood is one of the worst! If you drive anything close to the speed limit they just tailgate the !@#% out of you. I’ve gotten in road rage within a block of my house! Even more ironic is that this neighborhood has a number of police as residents.
I’ve been told that I should hammer on the HOA to get speed bumps, more signage, etc as the “internal” streets are really their responsibility. TIA for any ideas!

jogging stroller double reviews
I am due to have a baby Feb 14th and have a question about my carseat?
I purchased a Graco snugride 35 carseat because the reviews on it were great. I love the carseat and feel very confident that it will be a great purchase for us! The series that I bought offers a matching single and double stroller. HOWEVER, my husband does not want to invest our money in either of the stroller that come in the series. He wants to get a jogging stroller instead, and preferrably a double jogger. My question is, does anyone know if there is a jogger (single or double) out there that can accomodate a Graco stroller? I did buy the Graco stroller frame that the carseat locks into but it is not a jogger. I have seen a few joggers that have the ability to have an attachment hooked on to hold a carrier/carseat but mostly they are for like brands (ie: baby trend jogger with attachment to hold baby trend carrier/carseat). If anyone knows of a jogger out there that will accommodate a Graco carseat/carrier I would really appreciate it! Thanks so much!

Is it okay to use strollers for a 5 and 1/2 month baby who doesn’t sit?
Hi,
My 5 and 1/2 month old baby girl does not sit or turn yet. I have 2 questions related to that:
1. Should she have already at least started to turn while lying down, if not sit? I know all babies are different but by this age most of them would at least turn. Is that something I need to talk to my ped about? When and how should I try to get her to sit/ turn? She does try to sit up by herself and comes almost half way.
2. We usually move her around in the Chicco Liteway in a lying down position (the stroller can be reclined all the way flat). But since she loves her bouncer/rocker chair, I was wondering if I can use some incline on her stroller instead of carrying the travel system everywhere, like when going to mall etc… Would it be safe to move her that way?
P.S.: I’d like to add that she is a tall baby…(in the 90s percentile)
Like you said, every baby is different. My 4yr old was sitting up by 4 months, and walking by 8. Now my 18 month old sat up at 10 months and just started walking at 16 months. When my youngest couldnt sit up we still put her in the stroller sitting up, just made sure it was a 5 POINT HARNESS for extra protection since she cannot handle her body well

I HAVE A TRAVEL SYSTEM THAT I’VE BEEN USING, MY DAUGHTER IS 10MONTHS NOW. THE TRAVEL SYSTEM IS SO BULKY. I’VE LOOKED AT ALL THE DIFFERENT UMBRELLA STROLLERS & NONE OF THEM ALL THE FEATURES I WANT. ANY SUGGESTIONS? I LIKE THE SNACK TRY & CUP HOLDER FOR HER & THE BIG BASKET IN THE BOTTOM. ALSO THEY ALL SEEM SO SHORT. SORRY FOR THE CAPS, I’M AT WORK & HAVE TO USE THEM.

as a “second stroller”. It’s okay, the basket is fine, it has a snack tray and a cup holder. The sun shade doesn’t pull down far enough though and occasionally when I’ve had to walk directly into the sun I’ve had to pull my son backwards. It is a comfortable height for my husband (he’s 5′ 11″)
