I like the look and accessories on the Mamas and papas and the fact that it will last longer (weight) than the other one. I definitely miss not having a drink holder on my stroller. I like that it holds things underneath as well. But it is quite a bit more money. See if they have any used ones anywhere.

Do other brand infant seats fit safely on an eddie bauer stroller that originally comes with a car seat?

I bought the travel system, but my babysitter lost the car seat. Now i need another one that fits the stroller and locks on to the little safety bar. Ive tried finding just the eddie bauer seat and no luck.. any help would be great! or if anyone has one for sale.. my stroller is tan.

I wouldn’t try fitting another brand on the Eddit Bauer; those things seem to be engineered by NASA or Boeing, and a different brand likely wouldn’t be safe. You might try eBay or Freecycle to see if a complete one turns up.

My baby is a summer baby and I am at my wits end to keep his temperature normal?

My daughter is a winter baby. We are also from Canada, so summers SEEM hotter because they are so different from winter, which is most of the year. My baby is 18 days old and you know how baby’s body only keep the torso and core temperature stablized. Well in summer, his feet are cold and his head is SO hot. Or he is hot, but his hands are cold. That is how babies are. I am so worried that he will over heat. I keep a blanket over his stroller and turn it so he is in the shade. The other day I had slippers on his cold feet. And his head was SO hot, that I dipped his hat in water and put it on his head, which helped alot. Someone looked at me weird, lol… Slippers and a cool hat. What do people in hot countries do??? Almost as soon as baby is brought home, concerns about taking baby out of the house pop up. Most new moms have received some kind of baby car seat or carrier at a baby shower to transport baby safely home from the hospital.

There are many strollers or baby carriages to choose from and each has their own benefits and disadvantages. Most moms have found lightweight strollers can be the best all-around choice even if they own more than one style of stroller or baby carriage.

Lightweight strollers are easy to push. That alone makes them desirable, Most lightweight baby strollers will have a single handle, much like a grocery cart handle. Because the stroller is light, one hand in the center of the handle can push the stroller along freeing up a hand to hold on to a toddler, examine merchandise or even enjoy a drink.

If a mom is doubly blessed and needs seating for two in a carriage, lightweight double strollers are available that offer the same conveniences as the smaller models with only adding a bit more weight.

Mid- to heavy-weight carriages offer one obvious advantage over lightweight strollers. They have plenty of room to carry things other than the baby. This may be important to some moms but most will agree the ability to carry stuff does not compensate for the bulk and weight of these larger carriages. Lightweight baby strollers are more maneuverable, easier to fold up out of the way, more convenient when travelling and don’t take up nearly as much room as their heftier counterparts when stored.

If you were in this situation would you put the 1 year old and the infant together or the 1 year old and the 3 year old together? I was thinking of buying a travel system for the baby, which will cause me to eventually go out and buy a bigger double stroller for the older two.
Any stroller/travel system recommendations?

There are stollers out there that are double seaters (you can use an infant seat in one of the seats) and a bench seat in the back for your older one. Here is an example of one from babies-r-us:

I have been looking into one myself. I have a 15 mo. old, I care for my neice who is also 15 mo old, and will be caring for another niece/nephew when it comes along when both babies are 2. I figured this would be the best solution, as you can still strap a kid in the back bench if need be. Your 3 year old may like the bench option, because it will give her more freedom to choose to either stand up, sit, or even walk with you.

Phil and Ted Strollers: The Low Down

The Phil and Ted stroller (Sport) is all the rage with young urban parents. It is good looking, comes in bright, snazzy colors, and it’s from New Zealand! The Phil and Ted also boasts a truly unique design. It can be converted from a single stroller to a double stroller, and also reconfigured to carry toddlers, infants, or a combination of both. The idea is that the stroller grows along with a growing family. It works like this:

For your first child, the stroller is used in single mode and the seats recline so that the newborn may lie completely flat. As the child grows to a toddler, the seat adjusts so she can sit upright as in a regular stroller.

When your second child is born: the stroller is used in double mode, with child #1 sitting upright in front, and the newborn lying fully reclined in the rear.

As the newborn grows, you can purchase an extra seat that snaps on to the back - and presto - you have a standard inline double stroller - i.e. one child seated in front, the other child seated behind.

The Phil and Ted Sport is the latest version of two earlier strollers: the “Explorer” and the E3. The company has steadily improved the design adding new features and correcting old problems. They also produce the Phil and Ted e3 Twin which is a side-by-side stroller (with children sitting beside each other). The Twin is not nearly as popular as the Sport whose inline design easily gets you in and out of narrow spaces.

The Phil & Ted Sport is a good choice for everyday use: The inline design and swivel wheels make it very manoeuvrable and great for shopping. Handlebars are adjustable, and there is the ever-popular bumper bar for kids to grab hold of. The frame is lightweight aluminium and wheels are quick release for easy storage. However, the small front and back tires limit the stroller to smooth surfaces - no jogging or off-roading here! In addition carrying capacity is a bit of an issue, unless you purchase extra bags sold separately. These ‘Pannier Bags’ are like pouches that hang on either side of the stroller giving you extra storage.

The main complaint that you’ll hear about the Phil and Ted Sport is the price. You can expect to pay about $400 for the stroller plus an additional $90 for the back seat attachment. Competing strollers in this price range are Bob Revolution, Mountain Buggy Urban, and Baby Jogger City Series.

Despite the price, a new Phil and Ted Sport may not be a good choice if you are planning to have more than one child. (In fact 75% of families have another child a few years after the first one!). So if you have one newborn and can’t decide between a double or single stroller, the Phil and Ted Sport may be the safe choice for you. Happy Strolling!
